About LYVR
Short: LYVR is a free airport layover planner. It times your walk between gates, shows live security waits and the lounges you can use, and fills the time left over.
Long: Flight trackers tell you whether you'll make your connection. LYVR plans what happens in between. Save your flights and LYVR pairs them into layovers automatically. It routes the walk on indoor airport maps, around walls, across floors and onto terminal trains, adds the checkpoints the connection crosses (passport control, customs, bag recheck, security) with live wait times where airports publish them, and shows how much time is left to spare. It lists the lounges a traveler's credit cards, Priority Pass or airline status get them into, and its Ask AI planner fills the time with real places along the walk to the gate. LYVR is free, works at any airport, and runs in any browser.
Story ideas
- A student-built travel app. LYVR was started by a Hofstra University student and is built by a small New York team.
- Indoor walk times. LYVR routes walks on indoor airport maps, floor by floor and around walls, to time a connection from gate to gate.
- Data for your story. Lounge counts, card access and connection rules for 113 airports, free to quote under CC BY 4.0: airport layover data.
- Live waits. Security or customs wait data at 59 of those airports, from airport feeds, TSA, US CBP and the EU's Entry/Exit System queues.
- EES. How the EU's new Entry/Exit System changes connections in Europe: EES and layovers.
