TRUST & SAFETY

How we protect your data.

LYVR knows your flights, your layovers and sometimes who you travel with. Here's exactly how we keep that safe, in plain words. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

0passwords stored in readable form: only a one-way hash that can't be reversed
2×encrypted: on the way, then again where your most sensitive details are stored
0ad or cross-site trackers, in the app or on this site
12hat most for a live location link, then it ends on its own

Safe by
design.

What's in place today, and what it means for you.

Encrypted on the way

Everything between your phone and LYVR is scrambled on the way (HTTPS), so no one in between can read it. Browsers are told to always use that secure connection, and your sign-in can't be read by other code on the page.

HTTPS always · protected sign-in

Encrypted where it's stored

Everything we store is encrypted on disk. On top of that, LYVR scrambles your accessibility needs, citizenship and route preferences before saving them, so only LYVR's servers can read them, not anyone looking at the database.

Encrypted on disk · a second lock (AES-128) on sensitive details

You choose what's saved

A step-free route or wheelchair need is health information, so it stays on your device unless you tick the box to save it to your account. Clear it, or remove a citizenship, any time in Edit Profile.

The AI sees as little as possible

When Ask AI plans your stops, it gets your flights, the airport and the places to choose from. Never your name or email, and a wheelchair need is never named: it only hears "step-free routes", and LYVR applies the rest itself. A note you type is sent as written, so leave health details out of it. We use Gemini's paid service, so Google doesn't use these requests to train its models.

A locked-down database

Only LYVR's systems hold the credentials to reach our database, and it has no public API, and each traveler only ever sees their own data.

No public access · each traveler kept separate

Staff access is limited and logged

In our staff tools, LYVR staff see only part of each traveler's email address. Every time someone on the team looks up or changes a traveler's account, it's recorded, and that record is kept for a year.

Masked emails · access log

Live location that ends

A live arrival link shows how far along your planned route you are, not a trail of everywhere you've been. It stops when you stop sharing, when you reach the curb, or after 12 hours, and is deleted soon after. Only you can update it.

Random link · only you can update it · ends on its own

You choose what Crew sees

Other travelers see your first name and last initial, your photo, your LYVR ID and the routes you've flown, never your email. Friends you accept also see your past flights with their dates and times, and the country your passport is from. Tips are public unless you pick Friends; recaps start as friends-only. Trip recaps never include flight numbers, and only show the month unless you choose otherwise.

What we never collect

The safest data is data we don't have.

  • Your password in readable form. Only a one-way hash. If you sign in with Google, Google handles that password and LYVR never sees it.
  • Your card number. Payments happen on the secure page of Stripe, our payment provider.
  • Your real passport number. LYVR's "passport number" is just a made-up ID for the app.
  • Where you've been. Only progress along a shared route, while you share it.
  • Tracking cookies. This site counts visits without cookies, IP addresses or knowing who you are.
If something goes wrong

A plan, written before it's needed.

  1. Shut it down: change every key and password involved, and pause the app if we have to.
  2. Find out exactly what was affected, whose data, and for how long.
  3. Tell the data protection authorities within 72 hours where EU and UK law requires, and the people affected without undue delay.
  4. Fix the cause and make sure it can't happen the same way again.
